Worst moving company I've seen in decades

To start with, Homestead repeatedly refused to provide my wife and I with the federally-required information about our rights as consumers. We had to threaten to notify state and federal regulatory agencies before Homestead finally sent us the simple pamphlet that law requires them to give to each potential customer along with an estimate or bid. Sadly, this turned out to be just the tip of the iceberg as far as our bad experiences with Homestead go. Prior to picking up our belongings, Homestead offered a month's free storage. This offer disappeared within a day or two after our belongs were on Homestead's truck -- they began calling us and insisting that we travel to our destination state immediately, because they would be delivering our belongings there in a few days. No negotiation of this change was allowed and my wife and I had to drive all nights (and a month ahead of schedule) many, many hundreds of miles in a dangerous rainstorm, only to find much of our furniture and boxes were unloaded onto the muddy roadside in the storm. There's more (and worse) to report about our experience with this company, especially about the huge difference between their bid and what we had to pay to get our belongings back -- I will write a second review as soon as I can.
